So, I’ve been so excited to share this cake with you, although I’m a bit disappointed in how the pictures turned out. It was late at night when I attempted my Barbie photo shoot and it didn’t work too well.
So, finally, I had a chance to use my Wilton wonder mold and mini wonder mold pan when Sophie requested a Barbie doll cake for her cute daughter, Sandrine’s, 7th birthday. Aside from the doll cake, she also requested 12 mini dolls to use as party favours.
I covered the skirt in two shades of pink fondant, little ruffles peeked out from the hem of the dress; the crown and corsage added the final details.
Here she is, all dressed for the party and ready to make a little girl smile.
And here are the 12 mini barbies. I have to admit, these were a lot more work than I anticipated, all the little bows, ribbons, flowers and polka dots took some time, but turned out totally cute. This is what I call a labour of love!
